The Family Stone Held by the Sea creations is a little way to turn that name into a moment.

You choose the name, date or short words you would like written, and we’ll take them to the shoreline and write them into the sand. Before the tide washes them away, we’ll capture your moment for you in a beautiful digital photograph and short video, set to a song that means something to you.

There doesn’t need to be a reason, it’s what it means to you.

WHAT YOU’LL RECEIVE

Your Family Stone Held by the Sea experience includes:

• Your chosen name, date or short wording written by hand into the sand
• One digital photograph of the finished writing by the ocean
• One short edited digital video capturing your moment and the tide
• Your chosen song added to the video, where available
• Digital delivery of your finished photo and video
• Optional tagging when your video is shared on our social pages

Your digital photo and video will be sent directly to you. No physical photograph is included.

Because every name is written by hand in real sand beside a real ocean, no two will ever look exactly the same.

The sand may be smooth, rippled, light or dark. The waves may be soft one day and a little wild the next.

That’s part of what makes each one yours.

Is there a song you’d like us to use?

Music can completely change the feeling of a moment, so if there is a song that means something to you, we’d love to know.

We’ll do our best to use your requested song where it is available through the social media music library we are using.

Occasionally a particular song may not be available due to platform or music licensing restrictions. If that happens, we’ll choose a suitable alternative or contact you if needed.

KEEP A PIECE OF YOUR MOMENT

Your video captures the moment.

Your keepsake lets you hold onto a little piece of it.

We will take a crystal pouch or larger crytal of your choice to the area where we write your loved one’s name. We will place it next to the name and once the water has washed over the name and the crystal we will place your crystal in a glass vile and send to you.

WHERE WILL MY NAME BE WRITTEN

Held by the Sea moments are created at tidal beaches around the Gold Coast, Stradbroke Island and the South East Queensland coastline.

The exact beach will depend on where we are creating that week, along with the weather and tides.

And that’s part of the experience — every shoreline is a little different.

Have a particular beach in mind?

If there is a South East Queensland beach that means something special to you, please contact us before ordering.

We may be able to create your Held by the Sea moment there, provided the location is suitable for tidal writing.

Additional travel costs may apply depending on the location.

WHEN WILL MINE BE CREATED

We currently create Held by the Sea moments by the ocean on:

Wednesdays · Thursdays · Saturdays

Please allow approximately 7–10 days from ordering for your moment to be created and digitally delivered.

Because we’re working with the real ocean rather than a studio backdrop, Mother Nature occasionally has other plans.

Heavy rain, unsafe weather, tides or beach conditions may mean we need to move your session to the next suitable day.

We promise it’s worth letting the ocean do its thing.

SHARING YOUR MOMENT

Held by the Sea was created to share little moments from the shoreline, and the videos we create are an important part of telling its story.

Unless you tell us otherwise, your finished name and video may be shared on The Family Stone social media pages.

We will not share your customer details, order information or personal story.

Only what you have chosen to have written in the sand will be visible.

BEFORE YOU ORDER

Please check that:

• Your spelling is exactly as you want it written
• Your wording is no more than 12 characters
• You have entered your preferred song and artist if you have one
• You have selected your keepsake option if you’d like one
• Your email address is correct so we can send your finished digital files

Once your name has been written and filmed, we can’t recreate it because of a spelling error entered during checkout.
